Once connected to the system, a menu of options will be presented on his television screen and can get the billing details, ledger details; even he can lodge complaints. Also the consumers can know the latest and pre-scheduled power shut down announcements. All these services can be availed by the consumers from his home and at his comfort. Technology used: Visual Basic, TAPI, Oracle Investment Planning System Investment planning process has been a critical activity for a utility as it dictates financial and managerial effectiveness of the company. Efficiency of the process becomes extremely important when the competitive market impels the company to achieve certain market norms. LIMITED. • MIMS captures data relating to the complete lifecycle of a meter right from Receipt at Stores, Repairs, and Maintenance to the final Scrapping. • It will provide detailed reports to help track meter assets, analyze parameters and provide exception reports. • It will also provide detailed reports to help in tracking and monitoring right down to an individual meter. Annual Maintenance Contract is developed for EPDCL in VB with Oracle at back end that monitor the inventory like PCs, Monitor, Printer. • It maintains the database of all items present in the entire DISCOM and keeps track from registering the complaint until it is rectified. • It checks if Preventive Maintenance is done periodically. • It calculates the downtime from which we can know the system availability. The penalty will be levied if the system availability is less than 95%. EPDCL Alert System This application runs in the system tray and pops up an alert showing an alert of Top 10 Interruptions for durations more than 45 min. When clicked on it, it shows the details of those interruptions. This application is primarily developed for the top level management. It may be enhanced to include other important alerts. Ep-IMRS(Eastern Power Information Management and Reporting System) With a view of making Section officers free from their repetition of recording data into multiple registers EPDCL has taken this project. EPDCL has taken care to automate all the critical processes of Section officer. It is a web application with Oracle at backend. This application is purely a client server application where the Section officer will be getting his/her corresponding data from the central server through dialup connectivity. After performing his operations the same will be synchronized to the central server.
