It actually depends on the language combination. For translations from English to German or from French to German, I usually charge 0,03 USD at least. For more rare language combinations, the price usually raises.

the rate varies between 0,01 USD per word and 0,04 USD per word. Some employers ask for the lowest rates, so try to start on 0,01 USD per word. But you have to compute it for yourself whether this price will pay off for you. If you don't want to translate for such a price, try to offer higher rate. One employer offered me 0,05 USD per word, but under condition, that I will be at disposal the whole day every day, which is not possible for me with two little kids:-)
