What happens to my bids when Project is closed without being awarded to any Freelancers?

asked by Masimoto 29 March, 2017

I'm a new Freelancer and I have observed that This has happened on so many of the projects that I bid on as a freelancer. The employer sets a quick deadline to submit bids, many freelancers bid on the project and the project is then closed without being awarded to any of the freelancers who bid.

So what happens to my bid? Do i get that back so that I can actually used it for some meaningful bidding where at least the Employer considers one of the bidders.

Once you bid its deducted from your quota. You don't get it back even if the project is cancelled or closed without being awarded.Injustice for freelancers huh !!!

Your bid will get refunded if it has passed 28 days after 7 days of closure.

The worst thing is when you sponsor your bid and then noone gets awarded, so you just basically wasted your money

I have same question. It is unfair that you spend your time, money (you pay for electricity, you service your systems) after placing a bid or contest, the employer just walk away without awarding the bid. More painful is when the employer cancel the bid/ contest without awarding it. Is it justified that freelancers should be treated without respect ?

Editing a bid does NOT deduct more bids from your dashboard. At least, it's never happened to me. If you are experiencing this I advise you to talk to site support.
