Contest Brief

===This contest ends on 28-July 8pm CEST===

Summary:
I offer 225 EURO for a single image file that I need by 28-July. This image should reflect how humans can be exposed to fine particulate matter in indoor and outdoor environments from indoor and outdoor sources.

Image layout:
I need a cover art graphic for a scientific journal. Cover art should be colorful and eye-catching, imaginative and creative, and must convey the essence of below-described image content. Graphics in psd (preferred), eps, tif, jpg, or png format (not pdf or ppt) should be approximately 8 inches wide and 10 inches high, with a resolution of 300 dpi (2400 x 3300 pixels). The top ~3 inches of this image will be obscured by the journal logo. Please include a "layered" version of the file.

Image content:
Content should reflect that humans can be exposed to fine particulate matter (an air pollutant) in different indoor environments (our residences, our workplaces) and outdoor environments (1000s of cities and rural areas) from various indoor sources (cooking, candles, ...) and outdoor sources (traffic, power plants, ...). I attach the abstract of the content, the main sketch that can be used or not in the image, and some results that could inspire or not.
---Good image case would be e.g. to imagine somehow a sketch with a house with air coming in one side (and a power plant complete with plume, and a car with exhaust smoke showing on that side of the house ... and air blowing out of the house's kitchen window on the other side, where a cook stove would be evident showing smoke...

Good examples:
---Attached is an earlier cover (EST Intake Fraction Cover) that could for example be modified to include some indoor sources but without the smoking...
The journal is Environmental Science and Technology (ES&T) and the cover art gallery is found at http://pubs.acs.org/action/showCoverGallery?journalCode=esthag Examples that I like and that could serve as inspiration are:

-http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/covers/esthag/esthag_v049i013.jpg (here, I like how overlaying photos could represent different environments),
-http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/covers/esthag/esthag_v049i016.jpg (here, I like how a complex sketch like the one I attached overlays a full-size photo),
-http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/covers/esthag/esthag_v049i020.jpg (here, the many small photos could represent different cities or indoor environments,
-http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/covers/esthag/esthag_v050i021.jpg (here, the map could indicate different levels of air pollution in different regions).
