Contest Brief

I'm looking for someone to create an interactive infographic using Javascript and HTML ( or Tableau) that will be embeddable on a clients site. The client uses a formula to calculate the amount of time and money saved with their product, I would like this time and money savings to be visualized. The infographic should contain sliders so the user is able to input variables and see how these impact the data. Here is an example I worked on:

https://public.tableau.com/profile/olesya2506#!/vizhome/WorkstationSavings/Story2

The completed infographic should have various charts displaying the savings of my client's product. Here are some charts that I think will work well that are available on Google Charts:

https://google-developers.appspot.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/columnchart

https://google-developers.appspot.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/gauge

http://visapi-gadgets.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/pilesofmoney/doc.html

*If you choose to use Tableau instead, that is fine, I will just need to be able to download your workbook.

*If you choose to code this please include the whole file and not just a link when you deliver the project to me.

The design should be clean and modern and match the color palette of my client:

If you would like to take a look at the calculator in place that I generated the data from you can find it here: http://www.newcastlesys.com/mobile-cart-mobile-computer-cart-roi-calculator

rs per week, # workstations in order.

I will attach the client's logo and the data in excel.

Please feel free to ask any questions, I will respond as quickly as possible.

Note: Please take a look at this, it is an infographic about the same topic. The entries I'm receiving are just charts, they are not infographics. This contest is meant to show an infographic this is adjustable (sliders), but it is still an infographic. http://www.newcastlesys.com/blog/bid/345843/Turn-6-Minutes-into-5-000-and-Make-Employees-Happy-infographic

If anyone wants to improve on their entry #13 is the closest to what I'm looking for. What could make it better is a couple more charts. Two more ways of visualizing the data, preferably in different types of charts, such a bubble chart or an icon-based visualization.

What are you trying to show clients by the infograph? The more number of minutes walking, the more more money can be saved? Or something else?

Hi, I've below few points for you.

    A. Can you please submit clean data? Currently I am getting the data in csv as below with exponent format which I am unable to change.

    1 22 1 762.67 34.67Ê 34.62Ê
    2 22 1 1525.33 69.33 17.31Ê
    3 22 1 2288 104 11.54
    4 22 1 3,050.67Ê 138.67 8.65Ê

    B. Also, it would great that you provide the formulas behind the calculation, currently there is no formula, so the infographic we create will be only for the data you have provided. If you want it to be dynamic, the formula behind the ROI calculation which involves all the factors (like the 5 sliders at the page: http://www.newcastlesys.com/mobile-cart-mobile-computer-cart-roi-calculator)

Hi OlesyaLu, are you on an Apple computer? Some characters are having trouble rendering on Windows/Linux machines. Please set your encoding to UTF-8. It must be set currently to something like Western Europe(Apple Macintosh/Icelandic). Also, are you OK with Javascript frameworks?

In your example, client only enters 'Minutes walking', and result shows only 'number of workstations' and 'yearly savings'. But in excel file, there are 'number of workstations' 'hours saved' and 'number of months until ROI'. How should I use those three columns?

you could show hours saved in relation to number of workstations, or yearly savings with workstations and minutes walking, etc

I don't clearly get what you need exactly. Why did you upload the excel document, what those data mean? After entering 5 numbers by user, I don't understand what should the infographic show.

the data needs to be interpretted in a way that's useful to people looking at it, it doesn't have to be all one chart, you can take sections of the data a make a visualization out of it. Take a look at this example: https://public.tableau.com/profile/olesya2506#!/vizhome/WorkstationSavings/Story2 It shows that the more workstations you buy, and the more steps you walk to higher your yearly savings will be, the bubbles increase to indicate an increase in savings
