Create artistic sketches to transform the look and feel of an existing consumer medical product

Contest Brief

Looking for creative and innovative artistic designers to propose and sketch rough initial art designs to create cosmetic sleeves or thin cases that would go around an asthma inhaler/puffer (see attached PDF for details).. Looking for various fun, fashionable, or imaginative looks to elicit great feelings for different age groups (kids to adults) - the sky is the limit of your imagination. Minimum of 3 unique and different sketches are requested through this project.

The sleeve (either silicone and/or plastic) would be designed such that it can easily fit around the most common asthma inhalers without interfering with its function (either pressing of canister at top or flow of medicated air at mouth-piece). In addition to aesthetics (unique and creative 2D and 3D designs), the sleeve can also provide other functions to carry/protect the inhaler. Various designs are needed for different groups - kids, fun, adolescent, fashion, sports, luxury, etc. Winning designs are those that combine creative looks, emotions, ergonomics and functions.

In a separate follow-up project, the selected sketches will be further refined and used to ultimately create appropriate digital 3D renders for further consultation and 3D printing of the initial physical prototypes. Ideally the follow-up project would also be completed by the same designer as this sketch project, depending on ability and know-how to bring the physical product to life.

Another important factor is the need for air ventilation holes at the top of the sleeve if the top has a completely enclosed design. This is to ensure that air can be easily inhaled along with the medicine from the canister during use. I realize that at this stage we are in the creative stage, so not to worry too much at this stage, but something to think about if it can be incorporated in the design early on.

Also, while creating your designs please be mindful of the best material(s) to realize your designs, and how the sleeve/case can be put on or attached around the inhaler, especially given its "L" shape and usability requirements.

Lastly, I would like to say that although only one winner can be chosen through this contest, we are planning on circling back with the top submissions and recognizing your work to eventually have as many varied designs out in the market as possible. Thank you all in helping our quest to bring some joy to the lives of millions of Asthma sufferers around the world.
