Contest Brief

We are looking for someone to design an effective, yet simple gun cleaning pump. What we are looking for is a circular system that would create a continuous flow of solvents through a gun barrel. What we already have is the gun barrel with a filter attached to the end at the end of the filter is a ¾ NPT internal thread.
What we are looking for is a system to attach to the ¾ NPT thread and bring the fluid from this point back to the open end of the barrel. We think it makes sense to use gravity to allow the fluid to flow from the open end of the barrel, into the filter that is on the other end (bottom), but we will need some sort of pump system to bring the fluid back to the open end (top) of the barrel.
It is worth noting that the barrel will not be uniform. There will be different diameters from ½” to 1-1/2” and they will range from 4” to 26” in length.
We expect that there are many different ways of coming about this task. We look forward to seeing your ideas. We want the end result to be effective, look nice and also cost effective.
We have attached a simple sketch of what we want to provide more clarity.

Hi, is there a specific way to connect the pump on the top of the barrel (like threads) or do we need to come up with a way to connect the pump to the top of the barrel? Thank you.

The solvent flowing through the barrel would passively clean the gun over time.

We would prefer it to be a powered pump. We want it to be an inexpensive pump.
