Contest Brief
I am creating a sports foundation to help children whose parents have been economically affected by Corona virus layoffs, so that they can still play football and other sports. I have donated ££ to get the foundation started and I have also got funds promised from some community minded friends. Essentially, the foundation will pay for all costs of the children aged 5-13 years to play sports, so that they don't miss out on all that sport can give to them.
In the area of New Zealand where I ran a football club, before moving to the UK for work reasons, the neighborhood is multinational, with many migrants, is typically low income and has many social problems including alcohol and drug abuse. But mixed in with this, the community has heart and soul and many people, especially disadvantaged kids, are just looking for someone to believe in them and help them out.
The community meets at the football club (www.birkenheadunited.org.nz) where 800 children play football each weekend. We will start with the football club in this location but if we can raise enough donations we will grow to other sports and other locations in New Zealand.
I need to design a brand for the foundation which will be called Birkenhead Sports Foundation. The tag line is 'Providing pathways to sport for children' The logo needs to be in red which is local colors, it needs to be reassuring, stable and efficient and non profit in its design. That is, I don't envisage a go fast, racy logo which looks temporary. More like a bank logo. The full name needs to be there until it becomes known.
The website needs to outline what we do with a simple explanation. Most of the initial recipients of grants will be fed by the local schools and the football clubs, so the site should be reassuring for potential donors that we are not a dodgy organisation which fails to deliver what it states and equally reassuring for the applicants/recipients that this is real.
Ideally we would have a site where a simple form can be completed by the school or club giving details of the child who needs assistance - details to be provided. We may need to link to a site we use to centralize our fundraising so that donors can give anonymously if they choose to.
