Contest Brief

I need a logomark designed for my web application. It is a forum site for local communities to post topics, replies, and keep in touch. I want a logo that illustrates where the app was made, in a Northern California coastal town called Mendocino. The town has tall water towers and large ocean waves. I'd love a logo that incorporates both elements. The logo should be 1:1 aspect ratio (square), and transparent (alpha) PNG, or vector. The size should be at least 512x512 pixels. Double that would be even better (1024x1024). It should also look good when scaled down to icon size. I've attached a rough example made from clip art. Please DO NOT use this artwork directly, as it is only for guidelines / inspiration.

The web application and site name is called "Mendo.org". If you incorporate a title into the logo as well, you get major bonus points.
(Note: Only the logomark itself has to be 1:1 aspect ratio -- the title can be separate, if you choose to design me one).
