Contest Brief

This contest is a tryout, where in addition to the prize, the winner will also be considered for joining our team. We are looking for a talented and creative person to design game mechanics for our Ninja-themed D&D game. The game is targeted at 9-15yo kids. We want it to be easily accessible for a novice, but also deep enough for experienced gamers. The mechanics should be a new take on the traditional D&D and RPG games. Familiar in some ways, yet novel in other ways. For this contest, please write up a summary of your ideas for the mechanics, with more detailed description of the first 3 levels of character development. Please limit your submission to 3 pages. Note that we are not looking for story writers, nor developers. We are specifically looking for someone talented at designing game mechanics. Experience being a DM is also a plus. If you are not familiar with online D&D genre, please check out roll20.net Our aim is to build something along these lines but with a simpler more streamlined interface to make the game accessible to new gamers.
