Contest Brief

ATTENTION: Please do not withdraw your submission. Not only have we not chosen yet, we plan on making several versions of the poster with more than one graphic artist and will pay accordingly. Thank you!

NOTE: We are still considering poster designs without an image and/or Silhouette of Capt. Lerro.

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS: $50 more and 3 more days! First and foremost, we greatly appreciate all of the time, effort and creative energy you have extended to submit to this contest. I really don’t like to ‘Rate’ them since they are all very good in their own way. Obviously however, we are trying to capture several story elements at once and choosing the style and feel of the art if crucial. Therefore, we have extended the contest for 3 more days.

We have also added images (including a raw sketch of a potential composition of the elements to consider) and the following notes to keep in mind:

-No film credits

-Ship crash photo within the Silhouette of Capt Lerro.

Movie Poster design for independent documentary titled: Skyway Bridge Disaster. We are looking for the right designer to capture the spirit and energy of this dramatic disaster that tragically killed 35 in a violent storm on May 9th of 1980 in Tampa Bay. The 600 ft freighter, the Summit Venture smashed into the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, sending 35 of the crumbling bridge to their deaths. Please visit skywaybridgedisaster.com for more info and pictures. NOTES to CONSIDER: 1. Tortured soul of Captain John Lerro. Although exonerated of any fault, he suffered horribly with the guilt of his role in the loss of 35 lives. the 43 year old died 7 years after the crash a sick and broken man. This documentary is a tribute to Capt. Lerro and the 35 who died. 2. Log line: 'How it really happened' 'A tribute to Captain John Lerro and the 35 lost lives from that fateful day, May 9th 1980. 3. a dark 7:32a, violent, powerful storm hits bridge and ship simultaneously. 4. Bottom credits can be random text for now. Thanks again!
