Hello, I have a private homeless shelter style hostel with beds and we need to cover food expense and bills.
Some of the people are competant and most are people who maybe don't have much to offer.
The people here are constantly asking for some sort of employment. They aren't completely useless, sometimes I have them wash dishes or or clean up.
A friend if mine recommended I set them up to donate blood to contribute money for living here and the food expense. Not a bad idea, but not enough money.
I need someone to think of a way I can use these humans to go out and make a small amount of money that goes right to the shelter.
The criteria I would say is important :
1) the money has to go to the shelter and then we distribute it to them. It's not a good idea if they get cash directly and then have to pay us. For example, if they can accept credit card, the payment goes to our bank account - this is good.
2) I don't want to manage these guys, anything that requires me overseeing their work (like a car wash) to offer a service to a customer isn't a great idea. They need to be self managed.
3) I need at least $20 per day, and they make anything after that for themselves. So if Fred makes $45 on Wednesday, I give him $25 at the end of the day.
And ideas would greatly be appreciated!

Your idea was almost good. The concept of the guys getting pallet wood and making furniture was the right kind of concept, but I am actually putting this into reality. So I would have to then 1) make efforts to sell these pallet tables 2) check their quality of work 3) store the material and product. I also didn't realistically see a high turn over of pallet tables. It's not like people would be lining out the doors. The guy from Pakistan sent privately the idea of setting up accounts on taskrabbit and grubhub delivery by bicycle. I would then have them under my account perform the deliveries and tasks and the money goes directly to me. Out of all of the poor ideas and good ones, this was the most realistic to implement.

How did the guy from Pakistan contacted you when freelancer have absolutely no chance to contact you before you contact us and there is neither conversation between you and him here on public board nor in the "write a comment" box within his entry??
