Thanks for choosing me as the winner. I echo Mr. Kumar's words that ivictorie's entry was an equally worthy one. I hope that ivictorie wins many contests in the years to come.

Selecting the winner was tough. There was severe competition between Namita and ivictorie. Basing on the general perception, Namita's translation stood out as the winner. That doesn't make ivictorie's entry any less valuable. As per the contest rules, only one has to be selected, so Namita stands out. Thanks to everybody for participating in the contest. Looking ahead to work with you all in great camaraderie... Keep an eye on the release of my book 'An Incorruptible Nation' in May 2015. Thanks again.

Thanks Ranjit for your feelings. Some 15 years back and in a spur of a moment the thoughts flowed out as ink on paper.

can i ask something from you, You said you are writing a book and your command over the language looks pretty good, but then why are you holding a contest. You could have done it easily by yourself?

Thanks for your kind words. You know curiosity drives us to do a lot of things. I checked this site some 10 days ago and the 'curiosity bug' bit me. And I felt the urge to do something.

Thanks for your very complimentary words. Believe me, I'd like to follow your advice about a walk in the park or on the beach, but the prize money is like peanut shells so I'd rather not. In any case, even my first attempt was more for the challenge because I could spot it at a glance that this poem has been derived (to use a polite word) from Sahir Ludhianvi's Woh subha kabhi toh aayegi. Sahir is my favourite poet and while I may not have guts to try to translate HIS work, I can surely try to do so with a pale imitation.

Yes I agree, You do need more original ideas. May be a walk on the beach or garden will help:)

I've just completed a book named 'An Incorruptible Nation' walking the gardens and beaches for thirty years across the nation. Hope to hear from you once it gets out in May, 2015. :)

Oh yes, your Hindi poem also carries shades of "Aa chal ke tujhe main le ke chaloon' from the movie 'Dood Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein'.
