Each illustration will go on a page, which will have roughly 5 inch (12 cm) x 5 inch (12 cm) space for the illustration. (One of the illustrations will be the front exterior cover, which may have a larger space for the illustration.) Illustrator with knowledge of traditional Chinese culture and/or Chinese history will be especially well-suited for the task. The illustrator will be provided with reference materials, such as images of art, architecture, and artifacts, and will be asked to study these materials.
