Looking at your references, the triangular 3 post layout from Image 2 is the smarter structural choice here. Each beam faces the firepit independently, so every swing position gets the same view. One thing before I start: are you going with egg chairs like Image 1, or bench-style swings like Image 2? Swing weight and chain attachment spacing are different between the two, and that directly affects beam sizing. Zone 6a snow load on a triangular frame actually distributes better than a linear 2 post structure, but bracket specs still need to reflect it. Every structural assumption documented clearly so you can verify before anything gets built.
