I have raw STL scan data of a single mechanical part for reverse engineering and need it turned into a clean, watertight mesh that can be sent straight to the printer for prototype testing. The file currently contains scan noise, non-manifold edges, and a few small holes. I’m after moderate precision: the overall shape and functional features (mating faces, mounting holes, ribs) must be preserved, but microscopic surface texture can be simplified. The raw scan data is in 2 halves of a rubber joint "boot" needs to be cleaned and joined. What I will supply • Original STL scan (≈200 MB) • A brief PDF showing the critical dimensions and the areas that must remain within ±0.2 mm What I need back • One healed, manifold STL ready for slicing • All faces correctly oriented, no self-intersections, no loose shells • Triangle count reduced where possible without distorting functional geometry Preferred tools are MeshLab, Meshmixer, Blender, or similar—use whatever gives the best result. Please let me know if you foresee any areas that may require design interpretation so we can review them together before finalising the file. Once delivered, I’ll run it t do a quick test slice; if it passes those checks, the job is complete and I release payment. Thanks in advance for helping me get this prototype onto the printer quickly and cleanly.
