Milk Topic: My topic is going to be based on the actual nutritional value of milk. Thesis Statement: Although milk has been perceived as a primary source of nutrition for innumerable years, recent clinical research suggest milk presents severe health risks such as obesity, cancer, and heart disease. You will write a 1,250 word academic research paper on a food-related topic. Incorporate all the tools learned in the narration, description, and expanded definition units to create this research paper. This argumentative essay must be complete, and logically so, leaving no doubt as to its intent or argument. The structure of the argumentative essay is held together by the following: A clear, concise, and defined thesis statement that occurs in the first paragraph of the essay Clear and logical transitions between the introduction, body, and conclusion. Body paragraphs that include evidential support demonstrating not only the argument but also the counter arguments. Evidential support (whether factual, logical, statistical, or anecdotal). A conclusion that does not simply restate the thesis, but readdresses it in light of the evidence provided. The paper must include a minimum of four academic sources plus an interview. You MUST use several quotations and several paraphrases. You MUST introduce each quotation and paraphrase with a signal phrase. You MUST include in-text citations, and you MUST have an MLA-style Works Cited list. Failure to comply will result in a zero on this assignment.
