The aim of this project is to design a circuit using PIC microcontroller and simulated using Proteus simulation software, which can automatically correct the power factor of an industrial load to unity. The loads are to be inductive and capacative based on the respective scenario, and automatic switching is to be implemented to bring the power factor to unity to provide or consume the reactive power to balance the system. The power factor of the system is to be displayed on an LCD. The main idea of the project is to simulate the concept of switching to achieve automatic power factor correction. Hence, using low power to demonstrate the concept. I will be requiring a Proteus simulation of the design along with PIC Programming. And a schematic diagram to implement the design as a small prototype, along with assistance to troubleshoot the prototype if necessary. Please feel free to post your bids with a brief discussion. This proposal is for complete solution including testing of the proof of concept. Will design the schematic, PCB layout, and the development of firmware. Will also build the testing board here to validate the working principle and testing. I will also be with you as you progress with the prototype building at your side. Hello Sir. the system will measure the current and voltage and their respective phase between them. You have a sensor to measure the power factor . Or we have to measure current and voltage using the analog inputs of PIC to calculate the power factor ? You already have selected the sensors and actuators to the system or part of a general case ? Hi, I have much experience in power electronics and digital control system. Your project is implementation the PFC algorithm on PIC device. I suggest that the algorithm should be simulated on Matlab first. We should not use Proteus to simulate power electronics circuit. Hope to be contacted with you in this project. Did many such implementations on exactly the same microcontroller. I can also provide you the PCB artwork along with the code and all the implementation guide needed for this project. We can also add data logging on SD Card to this project with an RTC and I can provide you the same also in the project code Regarding the Proteus simulation, this project requires to deal with AC supply and taking its zero crossing input, so the proteus simulation is not possible for this. The technique to calculate PF is based on time difference between current zero crossing and voltage zero crossing, and then computing a PF value based on this time difference.
