C# app modifications

I have a program that was developed to help display items on a television screen like a kiosk. This is a good program and I need it strengthening with a few extra features and easier interface. When designing the templates/layout of the slides etc I need it to be easier to resize images or attributes knowing the items will fit to the screen correctly. Should we set the resolution or can we work with images better? It imports data and reads it from a csv/txt file from a specified location. There is an update client that scans the network for running clients and applies the update to the local databases. It also copies new images across. I need the system to only copy new images, and to only replace images if it is newer. Any old/unused images should be left on the system in case they are needed again. When updating I would like to be able to design the splash screen that is displayed during the update of the database instead of just plain text. I would like to be able to set the program to start when windows starts and to begin the ‘slideshow’ straight away without a user having to click a button. (I could add the .exe to start-up but need the app to start the show itself) 4 main items and a general interface clean up to make it a more professional looking program.
