Hello, I can help you to both setup and explain the setup of your DNS Server. I recommend using of PowerDNS while most recommend djbdns. but Power DNS takes Order of 1 i.e. O(1) while searching for a sub-domain for its ip-address as its based on principle of hashing by chaining while djbdns is based on file based searching which becomes slow for large number of entries. I have implemented the same at IIIT-Allahabad (djbdns at Jhalwa Campus(Main Campus)(both global and intranet) and PowerDNS at RGIIT (Amethi Campus) (intranet only)). I will provide you with documentation which will include all things i will do to configure the Power DNS with which you yourself can manage/maintain and even recreate in case anything goes wrong.
