Coursework 1 – Database Design Coursework Deadline: Midnight on Friday 4th November 2016 For this coursework you should work with two other people – i.e. THREE per group (no more than three). For each small group of students, ONE document should be handed in – make sure you include all students’ names and numbers on the cover sheet. Do not discuss solutions with other groups as plagiarism is always reported. If, when working with another student, you cannot agree to a final solution then hand in separate documents, but let me know the details of the student that you worked with to avoid accusations of plagiarism. At the end of your coursework document you should state the percentage of the coursework that was completed by each student – for most groups this will be 33.3% per student. The percentages given should add up to 100%. For each student sign to verify that you agree to this. • Up to 2000 words required from the students Case Study This coursework should be carried out on a relevant case study chosen by the group members. Be realistic with your case study by choosing a small to medium organisation. i.e. Large multi-national companies will be much too complicated. Some examples of suitable organisations are: A bank (individual branch) A local retail shop A Library A Video Store A Doctor’s Surgery A or you can chose one from yourself. You are all taking BIS2300, which also requires you to choose a case study. It is acceptable to use the same case study, as this assignment will be concentrating on the data requirement of your chosen organisation.
