Congratulations on writing a book! This is no easy feat -- I've done it myself as a writer, and also as an editor, helping authors just like you get their manuscripts ready for publication. You've already done the hard part (getting the words on paper), now I can help you cross the finish line.
As you know, even the best writers still need an editor. That's where I come in: to polish "Two Worlds Collide," correct any mechanical errors, offer suggestions here and there, point out trouble spots, and, most importantly, make sure you are 100 percent happy with the final version.
I am new on freelancer.com, but not new to this profession. I am a native English speaker from the United States with 12 years of editing and writing experience in newspapers, magazines, trade journals, academic publications, short stories, blogs, e-books, and fiction and nonfiction books. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in international relations.
Why am I a good fit for you? Because I understand this is your story, not mine. As such, I'm here to correct errors and make recommendations, not rewrite your book. A good editor maintains the author's voice and saves him or her from printing embarrassing errors that would distract readers.
I would be happy to email you excerpts from other books I have edited as well as samples of my own writing.
Let's work together, Brye Steeves
