Hi,
I find freelancer very clunky compared to the sleekness of Elance, which is where I was until last week. As you are probably aware, Elance has shut down): Regardless, I bid above your project budget because my experience is that there is always an underestimation of the amount of editing that needs done on these projects.
I'm an outstanding rewriter (I'll rephrase clunky phrases and sentences for you) and I'll catch and correct any inconsistencies in your manuscript. For instance, one book I edited referenced a famous person's birthday, but the writer had noted it as the wrong day. It's difficult for writers to see their own mistakes, and I understand that so place the breadth and depth of my experiences to assist you so that your manuscript is the best it can be.
About Me: I'm a former literary agent (tough job!), who now works with authors to provide the support and caring their manuscripts need. It can be painful to see exactly how much a manuscript needs, but better now:) All authors actually believe their manuscripts don't really need much help, and there are a lot of so-called editors, who will tell you exactly that, run it through a software program, and call it "good." That's not me.
My stance is that you pay for real help, not a bunch of compliments on how little the manuscript needs correcting. Again, and sorry to say, most manuscripts need much more help than the author can tell. I am here to assist you. With warmth and best regards, RJ
