Dear Michelle,
I'm a simple person who has a passion for helping people like your dad. I have an expertise in nutrition, exercise, psychology, and an attitude to live life fully. I have time ranging from 5 hours a week to 15 hours a week, depending on your availability.
1. Nutrition- Majored in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UC San Diego, named the best school to study science when I was there. I also got my Masters in Public Health at UCLA. I have a deep understanding of nutrition and how it affects your body internally (your digestive system has more nerve cells than your brain!), can help dispel myths about nutrition, and offer simple to understand ways of thinking about food (thus cutting out all of the misinformation on the web). I enjoy cooking and putting together foods that will maximize health. I've completed numerous research projects ranging from cardiovascular disease to diabetes. I follow this by eating healthy as a vegetarian, i.e. always craving vegetables and fruits and whole grain.
2. Exercise- I find creative ways to incorporate exercise into your routine such as starting neighborhood walking programs, testing out exertainment systems to decrease childhood obesity, and incorporating workplace wellness programs. Additionally, I'm an avid cyclist and golfer.
3. Psychology and attitude- I give off an abundance of energy, while I get more energy from helping and interacting with others. Hence, I like to surround myself with people and offer as much help as I can.
I hope to talk to you and your dad to create a plan that works for him. I have outlined a sample 4, 8, and 12 week plan to create a system in his life and give him more energy than ever before. Here's to a lifetime of learning and sharing!
Regards,
Alvin
