The story sounds fantastic, it offers such a freedom for creativity and expression! Please note my serious interest in your project.. I'm an educated artist, and trained illustrator, lately working mostly on comics and children books, as well as various illustrations in ink pen. I almost exclusively work by hand, in pencil, coloured pencil, pen, ink pen, watercolours and gouache, also mixed media, because I strongly feel that children should be exposed to good quality art since their early childhood. As I work manually, my drawings are always original and unique and each story comes with different aesthetics and approach which I develop in the process. As you already suggest your preference (rougher hand drawn style), I would be happy to prepare a simple sketch in either pencil, ink or coloured pencil on the basis of which we could further develop the approach. My bid here normally covers for one one page full bleed illustration, but I'm flexible and I'm sure we can come to an arrangement. I once worked in a children's palace for four months, the age of these children between the ages of 5 to 12. At that time, every day I contact with 250 children, teach them draw and sing with them cause that was my job. Through contact with the childrens, I believe I am more understand the children's interests, I also responsibled the graphic design for the children's palace, to help them design a flyer, the poster, of course.
