Looking for long term labour, someone who would be extremely
economical, and would like to contribute to open source.
I would like to merge the best features of good email packages
(some open source so code available), and calendar, and organization
packages into one application that can simple claim to be the best
email+++ application there is, period. The candidate would ideally
want to give some time to this (giving back to the open source
community) for free, but also get paid as well. Since this is
an open souce project, the applicant(s) can grab other open-source
GPL'd code and use it. Most of the coding will be in glueing together
bits, and perhaps converting from c/C++ to c#, and also putting
together the GUI in ajax. This project could last many months, and
preferably be done part time, allowing the applicant(s) much
freedom, also there wouldn't be any near term deadlines, just
far term project projects. This is an excellent project for
learning as well. Again, the applicant must want to also give
the the open source community and donate some portion of hours.
This project simply requires a labour rate quote to be stated,
i.e. what will your hourly rate be. You would also want to state
what donated (free) hours you would also pledge to the project.
I would hope this would give the sucessful candidate a very valuable
experience and also (hopefully) attache their name to (hopefully)
the most powerfull (and perhaps most popular) email application
there is!! Project could be done all in MS .NEt, but it will have to
compile and run on Linux/Mono and run in Firefox. It would be nice
if candidates could work with linux/Mono in the first place,
but not specifically required. You can use Zimbra
[login to view URL]
as an example of a ajax email program, but I want this new email
application to be so much more!
Ability to program an interface in [login to view URL] or GNOME gtk# also
a benifit.
