Forex broker FXCM provides a SDK to extract historical price information from their server. We are a FXCM Referring Broker.
I need a simple, in-house? desktop app where a screen asks:
date range, time frame and a currency pair
Example: 01/01/2008 - 03/03/2008 - 5min -? EUR/USD
The system will log in, extract the historical price data and produce a simple text delimited file for me to save in a folder of my choice. That's all.
The server will only deliver 300 time periods at a time so there needs to be logic that repeats the requests and adds to the file if the date request is >300 periods. So for 5min time interval - is 12 periods/hour=288/day. So for 20 days there would be 20 requests in sequence.
This is for internal use, so no fancy interfaces or features.
The SDK has C++ sample codes. There is also a Java sample.
Please contact me for further information. I will provide the entire SDK kit to the programmer for use on THIS PROJECT ONLY.
## Deliverables
I have enclosed the getting started documentation from the SDK provider.

Thank you all for bidding on this. Good, professional responses. I have one modification before we commit - requotes?: Ideally, if the app could be compiled as a DLL I can call from Visual FoxPro. With full instructions on how to format the call to produce the delimited file. That would bridge the gap between this and my main app. The manual query screen could then be a separate exe that calls the DLL, but my main user would be my FP app. Might not need the manual screen. So on a daily basis I would have my app call the DLL, extract the data into a file that I then update my database with. The file name could be an autoname with daterange, timeperiod and pair. In a perfect world - if you also know Visual FoxPro enough to give me code to call the DLL....wow. I.
