We are looking for about 10 people to develop content for our new social mapping application ??" a website which is like [login to view URL] (but much better) ??" Think of it as a [login to view URL] for communities.... We're looking for technology enthusiasts who have special interests and love playing with Google maps. If you're interested in surfing, diving, fishing, walking tours, eating, traveling, hiking or just about anything you can put on a map then we would like to hear from you. (continued in deliverables...)
## Deliverables
What you'll be doing ??" adding hotspots and trails to maps that you create in a specific category ??" you'll be creating text, adding images, Youtube videos (if relevant) and basically generating some interesting content around what ever it is that you love doing? You surf? Live in Australia? Make a map about surfing in Australia. You like taking photos of Churches in Europe ??" why not document them on a map! As we mentioned before, we are looking for enthusiasts (which is basically a friendly way of saying we can't pay you much). If you think you can create a map with more then 20 points of interest (40-100 words) each and you have some photos you can use then drop me a line. Rates will be something like $2 for each map created, 50 cents for every point of interest you add ($1 with 2 or more photos, $2.50 for photos and videos). So if you make a really good map about diving with lots of pretty pictures (which might take you a couple of hours) then you could make $100..... ideally we are looking for people who will want to do this sort of work for love (as well as money). It would also be great if you could submit bug reports when (and if) you see errors... we'll create an account for you on our bug tracking system so you can easily report any bugs and glitches (when and if you feel like it). Finally....you'll be the first to use our new system, and your maps might form part of a community that you can own, nurture and develop over the coming years. Eventually we'll offering revenue sharing with our contributors (like Squidoo does) ??" so it could be a great foot in the door. If you have the best diving or surfing map on our site then you could potentially have hundreds of thousands of visitors to your map every year. Contact me with your ideas. Work to begin in January.
