A lot of date entry

I have a report file in which I need to extract data and convert it to Excel. Due to formatting inconsistencies, I see no other solution than to edit each record - no need to re-type, but a lot of editing, eliminating spaces, new lines, and inserting comas. Clearly a boring job, but well paid for what I estimate to be 5 hours of work.
