In the attached .mdb file, you will see 3 tables correponding to the Airman's Information Manual (AIM) and 1 corresponding to the Pilot-Controller Glossary (PCG). This access database was filled about two years ago. Your task is to replace this data with current data.
The AIM is available online at:
(you do not need to do anything to the PCG table - leave that alone).
This is your task:
1. spend a few minutes looking at the structure of the 3 tables and the data included in them.
2. write a screen-scrape program that will download the current AIM and put it into the database.
It is very very important that you read the "DELIVERABLES" Section below as this describes how the images are to be handled.
## Deliverables
1. return the database to me with the contents of the AIM loaded into it per the attached mdb.
2. IMAGES (IMPORTANT!). The aim has many images in it (about 500). Some are .GIF, some are .JPG. You need to download these as well and send them to me also.
3. IMAGES PART II. You need to modify the IMAGE TAGS in the text that you put into the MDB to correspond to the image. IN other words, if you screen scrape something that says
img src = "../../../whatever/[login to view URL]"
then you need to modify this to
img src = "./AIMIMAGES/[login to view URL]"
and make sure that [login to view URL] is included. ALL the images should be made onto the path of "./AIMIMAGES/", so all IMG tags should use this path.
This is actually a pretty straightforward and easy screen scrape and shouldn't take you very long if you know what you are doing. I dont care what technology you use to do the scraping in, as long as you get the data correctly.
