Database Driven Flash Design Project for Advanced eBay Selling

**Scope** To design a flash application that can be embedded within any eBay auction description. The application will consist of several core components. 1) Dynamic link to a product database. 2) Link to existing eBay auctions via our API connection to eBay 3) Intelligent cross selling using natural language to filter recommended items by their eBay titles. 4) Customizable look and feel. A custom flash designer to eliminate the need to skin the application. 5) XML feed to the flash application to control look and feel as well as data about products. **Use cases would look like** 1) A user comes to a computer reseller auctioning a computer. They determine they do not want it. They configure the exact computer they want given the sellers available offline inventory. The configured computer is then created in the flash interface similar to Dell and many other sites. The user elects s to generate a store listing in the eBay sellers store and buys the exact computer right there. 2) A user comes to a Shoe Seller within eBay and is locking for a size 9 Men’s Track Shoe by Nike or Adidas. Given the titles of auctions they are looking at, the flash application passes the title as a parameter and returns only relevant auctions to match what they are already browsing. 3) A user is looking for a specific item. They can either search existing auctions and if one is available is will appear. If not, the application will default to searching the offline inventory to find the product. When found it will generate a listing similar to use case 1. 4) A Seller wants to match the design of the flash application to his auction template. Therefore, he needs to control the individual elements of the interface. He would have another flash interface, which would control the text, images, colors, and dimensions of the application to create his own skin. 5) A Seller wants to see how effective the flash application is in generating more traffic, higher bids, and more sales. Therefore, he would need some reports based upon sales and traffic data collected by the application. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
