Current task flow which needs to be automated: Problem: A external user calls and need a IP adress change on a printer. The external user gives me an printername and a NEW IP adress.! 1) I log on to the printserver, via a remote desktop. 2) Then i go into – printer and faxes and find the printer, the user gave me the name on. 3) Then i righclick and choose properties… 4) Then i find the new IP the user gave me and choose this and clock ok. 5) Now solved. The above manual scenario i would like to be made, so an user can change an IP adress of a choosen printer by themeself. The solution (html based) is inteended to be inserted into an internal support webpage, so i would like it to be made in HTML with script. Wanted outcome of project: The users can go to a printer webpage, and choose the printers from a dropown list and then change IP adress and save it. So the script running on/back of the HTML must do/show the following behind the code: 1) Connect to the server through a script/powershell script or other adminway. your choice. 2) List printers with option to user to change ip. Dropdown or selectbox would be preffered. 3) Change IP of printer when user click "change" button. 4) Reply with an OK to the user gui, that it has changed. 5) Close connection. You are FREE to solve this project in whatever way you prefer, or with whatever scripts you want to, as long as the normal task flow is solved automaticlly and a small GUI is presented to the user with a "find printer" and "change IP" and last an "OK" when printer IP is changed. Hello there, From your descriptions, I think it's good idea to write 2 super simple shell scripts to: - Lookup for all printer, result is a list of tuples (`id`, `printer name`) - Change the printer with `id` to address `address`. Then you can have something like this [1] to turn it into a webservice then have another HTML5/jQuery base page to connect to it. This can be done using Node.js as well, but if security is not the most concern than [1] should be sufficent. I can delivered this in 3 days, most of time jus to examine your network configuration.
