I'm looking for a document management database that can be run from a CD or a USB stick. The documents are drawings of ships (tankers, passenger vessels, bulkers, etc.)
The database shall consist of an html start page with the logo of a specific company. Within the start page I would like to be able to select the ship by name (page 1 attachment)
On the ship level the database shall contain drawing files (dwg, dxf, pdf, tiff, jpeg, txt) and text files which are displayed in a simple explorer tree, according to the structure the files are stored on the CD. Selecting a file in the explorer tree shall allow to see a preview of the document, say, on the right hand side of the window (page 2, attachment)
Further, there shall be the possibility to left click on the document in the explorer tree and on the right hand have fields to further describe and define a specific document (page 3, attachment)
There should be a possibility to use these fields to search for certain documents according to the etntry made when stored the first time (page 4, attachment)
No multi user setup is required. A single user access from a CD or USB stikc is fine.
All windows/GUIs shall be html based as certain users only have basic setups on their PCs.
I assume that server2go may be a tool to program this database.
Thank you,
Andri
