The task is extremely simple if you are experienced with Linux compilation and libs/dependencies/headers related issues. I have to compile from source code Powermail ([login to view URL]) The Linux box is a virgin linux box with Centos 4.2 installed (clone of Redhat 4.2) plus mysql 5. I managed to complete almost all the steps but just before the end of the compilaton (during the "make" command) I get the following error: /usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0x57): In function `my_compress_alloc': : undefined reference to `compress' /usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0x143): In function `my_uncompress': : undefined reference to `uncompress' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [powermail] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/admin/SOFTWARE/powermail-1.7' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/admin/SOFTWARE/powermail-1.7' make: *** [all] Error 2 I assume there is a problem with a library or something similar. Your mission is to manage to make a full compilation without error and without removing any support such as mysql support. Also you have to tell me exactly the steps I have to follow to compile it by myself. Note the server is running and mysql 5 is installed with all the libs available on [login to view URL] website. You can have more details about Powermail here: [login to view URL] PS: I will provide an account on the server to you, so you can work directly on the real issue.
