Hi, I have 20 years of experience in developing and implementing software for the financial industry, including implementation of complex financial instrument pricing calculations based, among other parameters, on market prices. I therefore understand your requirements. However I have a few questions. In step 6 you calculate prices for a model number based on the parameters entered in the previous steps + additional parameters. Is pricing always triggered manually at this stage? Is there some form of validation of the calculation by the user at this stage (for instance verify the price of metal or fluctuation from the day before)? How about items already entered in the database? Are they all repriced automatically? Is there also a validation workflow? As far as metal prices are concerned, how frequently do you update them? Daily? At what time? Are the prices validated by a user before they are used for pricing? Are they compared to the previous value to identify suspicious variations (if the kitco site is not displaying the correct value for instance)? How many users access the application and specifically the password protected areas? Instead of printing a pricing sheet for each customer would it make sense to offer a web interface where they could access only their own information?
