We need someone to help us configure a 802.11b/g network for our housing subdivision. We also need a Hot-Spot area in our restaurant/pool area.
We need recommendations for amplifiers, antenneas, routers, validators, firewalls, Internet Cafe SW, servers, etc.
Our subdivision is 700 feet wide and extends about 1 mile eastward from the highway to the Sea of Cortez in Baja Mexico. We will be illuminating the subdivision from the west end of the subdivision furthest from the Sea. (see attached documents)
The 802.11b/g illumination point is the the roof of our restaurant that is about 40 feet above the Phase 1 housing ground level. The land gently falls another 70 feet from that Phase 1 housing ground level to the Sea over a distance of 5000 feet. We will have houses throughout that region. The houses will be single story no taller than 14 feet.
There are only occasional palm trees in the subdivision. The soil is dry sand.
It is acceptable for houses with poor reception to spend $200 to $600 for additional high gain antennaes and or amplifiers.
We are providing internet connectivity though a 512K Satellite link. Consideration for web caching would help perceived bandwidth.
Visiting laptop connections must be extremely easy to implement as there will be no technical people on site. There will be some available by phone.
HW & SW budgetary pricing and Support considerations should also be addressed.
