**Description:**

This project will involve the creation of an automatic rota generating system.

The project idea is to create a rota system for working departments with more than one person, the project will help to save time in managing staff working hours.

The main idea of the program is as follows :-

Staff names, positions and departments, etc are entered into the program and stored for future use. These of course can be added, deleted, or edited.

Working time periods can be selected so that staff are assigned an EARLY, LATE, LONG DAY, NIGHT, EARLY WEEKEND, LATE WEEKEND, LONG DAY WEEKEND or NIGHT WEEKEND. Incase a member of staff is working an unusual shift period there should be an option to enter a ‘time start’ and ‘time finish’.

A set of working patterns can be entered (eg : 07:00 ??" 18:00), These will be customisable to us and can also be changed at any time.

Holidayentitlements, sick leave, etc can also be entered for a particular person and can also be changed at any time.

Standard holidays (eg, Christmas, bank holidays, etc) can be entered which will be taken into account when the rota is created, eg ??" If a holiday falls on the 1st July then the rota system will take this into account and state the whole day as a holiday.

The program should be able to offer ‘preferable work patterns’ ??" this basically means that a person can request that they only work EARLY, LATE, LONG DAY, NIGHT, EARLY WEEKEND, LATE WEEKEND, LONG DAY WEEKEND, NIGHT WEEKEND or have no preference and will work any shift. They could also request that they only work a handful of these work patterns. This of course can also be edited.
