autoselecting combobox debug project

There was a program that I did that has one minor bug. That is if the information typed is not on the list and the backspace is used, it does not backspace one letter. Enclosed is the sample program used. The bug probably has something to do with the characters variable being slightly messed up when the word typed is not on the list. Here is an example. The sample list is as bay bee When the word spelled was ate but after the e the backspace is used, it deletes the whole word, not just the e. Here's another case. Let's suppose the word typed was aske. Then instead of just deleting the e it selects the word as and highlights the s. What I want in this case is to just delete the e but show no word selected. If the word was ask and the backspace was used, then it should delete the k, select as and nothing highlighted. The only code that should be changed is the code for the newscroll module. I need all the processing there because since I will be using this for more than one combo/text box or even more than one project, this allows me to have all the processing for this in one procedure instead of copying and pasting for each one.
