Art Sales Website

I want to have a beautifully designed news, affiliate, and eCommerce website that will be used for several merchants including artists, jewelers, book sellers, and two different kinds of photographers. The primary site should be based on stories and blogs, and the secondary site should be a store that is intricately woven into the stories. We will have five photographers, three artists, a jeweler, two novelists, an airplane salesperson, and two EFL instructors working on the initial site. Let's focus on giving all of these people the kind of blogging and journalism experience they deserve and an opportunity to make a solid buck on a website. ## Deliverables The main functionality will have mainly 5 access levels: a. public front end b. staff artist/seller (create art that is available for wholesale inquiries) c. artist/seller d. buyer e. main site administrator site features looks or some functionality is some how similar with something like [[login to view URL]][1]. The final seller is the artist--the artist is paid; artist ships the product. The site charges a fee for each sold item. The site will start with three artists who will post their own art, ship their own stock, etc., but the main site admin should be able to add items to their profiles and administer all profiles. Staff artists' art can be reproduced in bulk. We may attempt to hire additional staff artists in the future. The artist is charged a fee for selling on the site. I will be the only one adding staff artists. People who assume the normal artist role can request a seller account for free. Staff artists can design the corporate ID. Please, ask if you need artwork done. There are additional features and script that must be done like cron/scheduled tasks. For example: autoshare. It is absolutely essential that an autoshare feature be included. Read on. The above-listed websites offered some fair example of what I am looking for, but I am hoping to see something even better. There should be a strong search and sort functions. Categories on menu bars need to be broken up only by consumer necessity. Teasers in blocks need to come down to interest. Hopefully the sorts can all be taken care of by a tagging system. There also needs to be an obvious section to attract wholesalers. I am trying to do an artist catalog/ecommerce site. All nodes and pages, with the exception of the contacts page, need to interface seamlessly with Myspace, Mixi Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking sites. A great example is [login to view URL] . You can see the "add to facebook/mixi/twitter" button at the top right-hand corner of the page. For product nodes, anything added to a social networking should include a picture and a brief description of the product. All nodes and pages should work with robots. This needs to be demonstrated on Google, Bing, and Yahoo. I need to be certain that robots will be able to automatically crawl all pages and nodes, including forums. When I check webmaster tools, I need to see all the nodes and pages listed. The webpage may not include flash, and it must pass all validators. It also needs to be stylish and fast. These things are important: Color theory (I like both red and blue), Speed, Usability, Accessibility Please focus on that list. The main areas of the website should include: --Key: Site section (categories)-- Home [About the Artists (w/ contact forums)] Blogs/Tutorials [Journals/articles/blogs, Tutorials (should include a section for text tutorials, image-driven tutorials, and youtube video tutorials), Ask the Artists (modeled after Yahoo! Answers. You may want to use Drupal's forum plugins, unless you plan to build the site from scratch)] Gallery (Charcoal, Pen and Ink, Sketches, Water Color, Oil Painting, Digital) Help (Feedback, Press Inquiries, Corporate Inquiries, Report Errors, Customer Service, Request Bids, Wholesalers, Report Abuse) It should be easy for me, the site owner, to add new page sections and categories. It should also be easy for artists to alter content and add new products into their galleries, blogs, etc. There will be no less than three artists. So, please make it easy to add new artists. About the art: it should be categorized as above: charcoal, pen and ink, ..., digital. But there should also be a very simple tagging and rating system in place that allows refined searching and custom sorting. Sort by: Rating, arist name, picture title, colors used, etc. Refine by: Still life, family photos, ..., anything that might be in a tag. Artists should be able to tag their own art and users should be able to build custom categories and tags within their carts. Please, also try to script or make a pattern file (zero-content model) for the site, as the same model will be used to produce a few more websites. Successful bidders will win at least two future projects and may qualify for a partial maintenance contract. If you have any other ideas, I would love to hear them. CMS is okay but ground-up coding is preferred. Please include realistic time constraints with your bids.
