Financial Analysis - 15 marks -
- Identify company’s capital structure in terms of debt and equity (% each financed by debt and equity)
- Perform a 5 year trend analysis and a comparison to the industry average - describe company’s solvency, profitability, growth and activity (financial ratios in Ch. 11) as follows:
→ Compare ratios of 5 consecutive years to identify the trend
→ Compare the ratios of your company to those of the industry average for the same 5 years
- Note: To calculate ratios, you need the company’s annual reports for the respective years; if industry averages can’t be found using library research tools/internet, take annual reports of company’s 3 main competitors, calculate their ratios and then average of the ratios
