Hello there, I reviewed your spreadsheet in detail and as you also mentioned, yes, it is very heavy on calculations. It is have several formulas that will have to be implemented with utmost care. A very intuitive layout could be to have multiple tabs with the firs representing the controls to enter the data and various options like you have in your spreadsheet (like main/exec report). When the user has entered the data, based on the button clicked, the desired information would be shown to him. He would also be able to change the inputs and view updated results. We would also provide features for the user to download the reports in PDF format. Features like Goal Seek and scenario analysis could also be implemented. We could also implement different modes of payment and account types (subscription based or one time etc.) and some features that are very standard like Amortization Schedule could also be made available for free (say only registration and no payment etc.) Such a system would require a very strong backend and front-end would be 'responsive'. I started my software development over 25 years ago with financial accounting migration from Lotus-123 to dBase and later C/Clipper. In recent times I developed a bank software. I also write stock market related tools and extensions. I write code to collect/scrape data from the web/APIs and manipulate them in customized web applications. I can create a prototype in about a week to 10 days, then we do a trial run and modifications over next two weeks. Then we do a final implementation and dry run on production system in the 4th week.
