Create Mathematics content for grades 4 to 6

Please note that the price is fixed at $15 per module and we have around 20 modules to be prepared.

Please apply only if you have experience as a math teacher or a content designer. Please share samples of your work and details about your work experience and qualification.

Scope of Work

We use our own methodology called ‘STEPS’ to teach a concept to the kids. It emphasizes on the 5 phases of learning to ensure long term understanding and better performance in exams.

1) Spark - Generate curiosity through thought provoking questions

2) Think - Explore the concept through a game of an activity

3) Explain - Watch 2-3 minute videos to understand the concept

4) Practice - the concepts through worksheets

5) Share - summarize and reflect the knowledge

All content at Planet Spark should strictly abide by the STEPS methodology only.

The scope of work includes -

Content Design

Determining the overall mission for the child for the topic (in accordance to the Planet Spark theme)

Determining the conflict or the main question that the child needs to explore throughout the module. For example, how to work with unknown quantities in Maths

Designing each of the 5 phases of the STEPS cycle. Making sure that each phase is complete in itself.

Writing down the storyboard for 2-3 videos for the STEPS. This script would become a direct input for the video designer.

Creating a Flash Card for the module.

Creating Hint 1 and Hint 2 for all questions in the Practice Phase.

Mapping each aspect of the module to the curriculum Topic, Sub Topic and Sub Topic 2 (using an excel based template).

Quality Check Process

The content and the curriculum would undergo a stringent quality check process. The assignment would not be considered complete in case it does not pass through the QC process.

The content would be judged on -

Spark Phase - Comprehensive question or an intriguing example that should make the student think about the problem, elicit an appropriate response and set the stage for learning the topic.

Think Phase - Game mechanics, link to learning outcomes, fun factor, details on rules, cards or boards design

Explain - Story Board for videos (divided into 5-6 boards, with a storytelling, enquiry based script). Short summary of the video, Targeted factual questions linked to the video.

Practice - Originality and comprehensiveness of the questions, meaningful hints, pacing-up of content appropriately, use of appropriate design elements for each question

Share - Appropriateness of the sharing mechanism for recapitulating the knowledge learnt

Other aspects that the content would be judged on -

Appropriate mapping of each element (questions, videos, games, hints) to the curriculum (Topic, Sub-Topic and Sub-Topic 2).

Overall question / theme of the modules should be related to the topic and should repeatedly make the child think about the underlying concept.

Help provided from our side -

You would be provided with a guidebook to create the content. This will have detailed info about how to create each phase of the STEPS methodology. We will also share best examples of games and questions from all across the world and will also share the text books used in schools.

We will also provide detailed curriculum for you to create a module.
