taking information from autocad

I have written a visual basic appliccation which creates documents. I now need to add information from autocad drawing to these documents. I also need to program other autocad features. Firstly, the autocad drawings are normal 2d drawings ( plans of buildings) . I need my application to open auto cad seperatly for each function, and for each time opening, only the features described are available to the user. the features are. 1. Select an area, and calculate that area 2. Place custom door and stairs abjects on the drawings. 3. change the colors of existing lines by drawing over them ( i would like the user to be able to select thickness and color of line similar to mspaint) all of the above must be recorded in a database ## Deliverables Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
