I have extensive professional experience and qualifications for writing and editing positions. I am a professor, recently retired from a forty-five year career of university academic research and publishing as well as teaching courses ranging from freshman composition to graduate seminars in literature. I have published several articles in major academic journals and presented papers at hundreds of international conferences. During the course of my teaching career, I have edited thousands of student essays and several theses also. I have an extensive vocabulary and superior grammatical skills as well as expertise in MLA, APA, AP, and Chicago documentation styles. As a literature professor, I have advanced understanding of all creative writing genres (poetry, fiction, autobiography, non-fiction) as well as the criteria essential for publishable narratives. I have additional experience in speech writing, commercial marketing copy preparation, professional correspondence, and technical writing. Recently, I have been editing novels, articles, blogs, and other writing projects on a freelance basis. I am proficient in French and have a basic knowledge of Spanish, Italian, and German. Being retired, I have time to work on your project and help you complete it expediently. My standard fee is $50/hour for developmental editing (about .015 cents/word) and $70/hour (.02/word) for ghostwriting.
