As a writer specializing in human resources and career development and a psychology student, I have written about issues involving discrimination or a bias.
Career highlights include:
- Write posts about substance abuse and stigmas that people in recovery will have to overcome. Address stereotypes of an alcohol or drug abuse user - low income, uneducated black male vs. college educated, white female.
- Report career trends that debunk myths - women in STEM careers or male nurses.
- Hiring managers affected by the Halo Effect or endowing attractive candidates with positive traits and vice versa.
This project interests me greatly because I love psychology, research, and writing. So exploring different types of bias, e.g., confirmation, cultural, statistical, gender, etc. would allow me to use my passion for writing toward educating others.
Sincerely,
Danita

Pennae is a highly successful black business woman in Buckhead, an affluent part of Atlanta. But that was not always the case. As a child, she was sexually molested. Twenty years ago, she had a drug addiction that led to prostitution, theft, and multiple arrests.
Today she can't seem to keep a stable group of stylists employed at her salon. While she is excellent with her million-dollar clients and makes contributions to help feed homeless men, her female stylists say she is difficult to work for. Could Pennae be under the influence of a bias?
