Estimator Mid to Senior level for Home Repair Partime role 4hrs per day

I have a part-time role for a Mid to Senior level Estimator / Quantity Surveyor. Initially 4 hrs per day 5/6 days per week. This will start as a trial 4 week contract. THIS IS NOT AN ADMIN ROLE - Engineering or Trade Qualification and experience required Providing Estimates for customer enquiries I run a small home-repair and maintenance outfit and need a clear, line-by-line estimate for several everyday trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, dry lining, painting, tiling, and the occasional flat-pack furniture assembly. My priority is an accurate projection of both labour hours and material quantities so I can price jobs quickly and confidently without padding or surprises for the customer. You will receive brief job outlines (measurements, photos, and notes). From those you’ll: • break down each task into labour hours per trade • list materials with unit costs and expected wastage • summarise totals, plus any recommended mark-ups, in an easy-to-edit spreadsheet and enter into our ERP system As these are small repair jobs , efficiency is important as you will be dealing with multiple enquiries each day and our aim is to respond same day but not later than 24hrs. A lot of jobs are repetitive so you will continue to develop our pricing excel file, along with the product and services list in our ERP system I’m after a practical results, not a glossy report. If you already work with Excel, Google Sheets, or dedicated estimating platforms, let me know; I’m flexible as long as the calculations remain transparent and formulas stay intact. Acceptance criteria 1. You have a relevant engineering or trade qualification 2. Each trade/task shows separate labour and material subtotals. 3. All formulas are visible and editable. 4 . Assumptions (rates, waste factors, lead times) are documented on a notes tab. This has the potential to develop into a full time role, and subject to satisfactory completion of the 4 weeks and performance and suitability si acceptable on both sides we will move to a hourly contract. After 1 year there are other incentives available.
