I am developing a new spectacle frame and need a product designer who can balance engineering accuracy with eye-catching style. Both the mechanical function and the overall look carry equal weight for this project, so I’m counting on you to finesse every detail—from hinge geometry to surface curves—until the piece is production-ready and commercially appealing. READ BELOW- DESIGN WILL BE OF 2 PARTS - 1 FRAME - THIS ALLOWS LENS TO BE LOCKED INTO IT WITH HANDS 2- LENS FRAME - USED TO FIX LENS IN IT AND THEN IT GOES INTO THE FRAME TO BE LOCKED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A SEMI PERMANENT LOCKING MECHANISM. Key design parameters • Material: the frame will be injection-moulded in PC or TR90. Every feature must respect the flow, draft and wall-thickness constraints typical of these plastics. • Primary objective: robust mechanical performance. The temple mechanism, lens retention groove and nose-bridge stress points must all be proven durable while keeping the frame lightweight and comfortable. Deliverables • Full 3D CAD model (SolidWorks, Inventor or comparable) ready for tool-maker hand-off • 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances, draft angles and material call-outs • Exploded views or animation highlighting hinge action and lens insertion • Renderings that clearly communicate colour, finish and brand language Acceptance criteria 1. All contact points survive a virtual drop test and meet standard eyewear flex tolerances. 2. Draft analysis shows zero under-cuts or gating conflicts for single-shot moulding in PC/TR90. 3. Aesthetic proposal matches contemporary lifestyle eyewear trends while keeping SKU cost competitive. If you have a track record in eyewear, consumer electronics casings or similar injection-moulded products, I’d love to see examples and discuss how you would approach this frame in detail.

Hi I can design your two-part spectacle frame system with a reliable semi-permanent locking mechanism, ensuring proper fit between the main frame and lens frame while meeting injection molding constraints for PC/TR90 (draft, wall thickness, and flow). I will develop a production-ready 3D CAD model, detailed 2D drawings, and validate hinge strength, lens retention, and stress through simulation, along with clean renders and exploded views to clearly present function and aesthetics. I will deliver in 2 milestones and within 2-3 days. Thanks

The real challenge here is integrating precision engineering with visual appeal without compromising manufacturability or durability. You need a design that not only locks lenses securely with a semi-permanent mechanism but also stands up to repeated stress and drop tests while respecting injection-moulding constraints. I specialize in delivering exactly that balance. I will create detailed 3D CAD models with precise hinge geometry and lens lock features optimized for PC or TR90 flow, using draft angle and wall thickness standards to avoid undercuts. The design will undergo finite element stress analysis targeting the temple and nose-bridge, ensuring toughness and lightness. Detailed 2D drawings and exploded animations will communicate every mechanical step clearly for seamless production. Which specific mechanical challenge do you want me to prioritize first to align the design with your commercial and technical goals?

Hi, This project is very interesting, especially the idea of having a two-part frame with a semi-permanent locking mechanism. I understand that the balance between mechanical performance and clean aesthetics is critical here, not just one over the other. I have solid experience working with SolidWorks and designing parts that are ready for manufacturing, including CNC and production-focused models. For this project, I would approach it by first defining a reliable locking concept (most likely a controlled snap-fit or clip-based mechanism) that works well with PC or TR90 without risking deformation or wear over time. I pay close attention to details like wall thickness, draft angles, and avoiding undercuts to ensure the design is injection-molding friendly from the start. At the same time, I focus on smooth surface transitions and proportions so the final product looks modern and commercially appealing. For the hinge and stress areas like the nose bridge and lens groove, I would design them with durability in mind while keeping the frame lightweight and comfortable. I can deliver: * A clean, fully defined 3D CAD model (SolidWorks) * Manufacturing-ready drawings with proper tolerances and draft considerations * Exploded views or simple animation to clearly show the locking mechanism and assembly * High-quality renders to present the final look If needed, I can also share a quick initial concept for the locking mechanism before moving into full modeling.

Hello, I’m interested in designing your injection-moulded eyewear frame with a strong balance of mechanical performance and aesthetics. I have experience in precision CAD design and plastic part development, ensuring manufacturability along with clean, modern styling. I will develop both components—main frame and lens frame—with a reliable semi-permanent locking mechanism, optimized hinge geometry, and secure lens retention. The design will strictly follow PC/TR90 guidelines (draft, wall thickness, flow) for smooth moulding without undercuts. Deliverables include production-ready 3D CAD, detailed 2D drawings, exploded views/animation, and high-quality renders. I will also validate stress points and ensure durability for real-world use. Bid: ₹5000 | Delivery: 10days Let’s discuss your vision and create a market-ready design. Best regards, Deo Manthan
