Breakdown: The majority of this proposal centers on producing a monthly newsletter for the Pendleton Artisan Network. This newsletter would be similar in scope to the newsletter I produced last year for the Pendleton Downtown Association in the following ways: ● It would follow a similar monthly schedule (released on the first Monday of any given month, final copy deliverable to PAN board members for last-minute tweaks 72 hours before publishing. ● Created using Canva and sent out using PAN’s mailing list, with a link on the PAN website encouraging sign-up. ● Current newsletters would be featured on a dedicated page at the PAN website, with previous month’s newsletters being archived and searchable. This is my general outline for the proposed newsletter. What do you think of Pendleton Art News / Pendleton Artisan Newsletter or some combination therein? That would be the heading. Could be done as a lovely graphic. Know any graphic artists ;-) Pendleton Artisan News / Pendleton Art Newsletter Connecting and Empowering Pendleton's Artisan Community JSB Note: Title could be graphic, below it PAN’s mission statement. For branding purposes, it shouldn't change from month to month. Unless you wanted to do something funky like having a different artist do the graphic logo every month. Could be fun. Welcome Message Intro paragraph for monthly newsletter. Brief overview of contents. Sets tone of newsletter. JSB Note: I would write this. Sets tone of newsletter, and is useful for people who don't like long reads. We should be able to hyperlink to relevant sections within newsletter for readers who want to skip around. PAN’s Mission PAN’s mission is to foster connection with the growing artisan community in Pendleton providing them with the necessary resources for cultivating and amplifying their creative businesses. Upcoming Events Highlight upcoming PAN events Event Name Date, Time, and Location Short description of the event Event Name Date, Time, and Location Short description of the event Events could include markets, art walks, networking opportunities, art exhibitions, community events and PAN meetings. JSB Note: This would differ from the PDA newsletter in that it would be focused on arts events, with PAN events listed first and collaborative events afterwards. I would also be putting any of these events onto the Eastern Oregon Living calendar and do SM posts for each PAN event through EOL account. Classes and Training Opportunities Classes, workshops and trainings to help artisans strengthen their creative and business skills. Class or Workshop Title Date, Time, and Location Cost (If applicable, free to PAN members?) Overview of how participants will benefit. Info on how to register. Class or Workshop Title Date, Time, and Location Cost (If applicable, free to PAN members?) Overview of how participants will benefit. Info on how to register. JSB Note: Same as above. PAN Member Spotlight Each month, feature a PAN member and share their story. Member Name Contact Info Photo Interview with PAN member. Copy could include their background, past and current projects, artistic achievements, and how their work contributes to the artisan community. JSB Note: This would be a monthly feature, which could be done either interview or feature style. It should also link to the artist's online portfolio, tell readers where their work can be found in town, and talk up any events they've had or are having. Economic Development Share resources and information to help artisans build their creative businesses. Information could include funding opportunities, business resources, marketing strategies, free classes available through PAN website. JSB Note: This section is where we build credibility as an organization that knows where to find money, opportunities, and career-building opportunities in general. In the case of grants that are ongoing or one-off, we could summarize them and provide links. In the case of established agencies (for example, [login to view URL]) I can do deeper dives. Both will help to build the network. Artisan Community News Community news could include: collaboration opportunities, volunteer needs, calls for artists, and calendar of regional artistic events. JSB Note: This section would be where anyone can put out notice for collaboration opportunities, volunteers, or even jobs. (For example, I see that the Pendleton Arts Commission has a Call For Artists for its Art in City Hall program.) Closing Message End with an inspiring message that encourages future participation. Ask members to share newsletter with prospective members. Thank you for being part of the Pendleton Artisan Network, where creativity, connection, and community thrive. PAN contact info Website, email, phone number (if applicable), social media JSB Note: It would be good if you could get me an @[login to view URL] email, either JSB@ or Editor@. Builds credibility, and helps me organize data. This proposal also includes social media output. This output would include the following: ● A general SM blast on relevant FB groups announcing publication of current newsletter, with preview and link to current newsletter and sign-up page. ● Taking over responsibility of regular posting (WIP Wednesdays, Throwback Thursdays, Fixation Fridays), as well as posting information relevant to Pendleton’s Artisan Community & PAN’s mission statement. ● Providing monthly metrics for reach of Facebook posts through META and individual articles through the PAN website. Cross-pollination between PAN and Eastern Oregon Living. Since the start of ‘26 I’ve been creating content for Eastern Oregon Living, offering multiple areas of cross pollination and general increasing of bandwidth for individual PAN projects. You’ll find a couple of examples of these at [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] Moving forward, I could put links to the PAN newsletter / sign up page / other relevant links in these articles. I’m already tracking the reach of the EOL articles, and can do the same for any linked articles at [login to view URL] to track their performance.

From your brief, I understand you need a monthly newsletter that showcases Pendleton's artisan community, with member features, event highlights, and curated business resources. You're providing the welcome message, events and classes list, and any last-minute updates. I'll also post PAN events to Eastern Oregon Living's calendar and handle the related social content. Month 1 includes: - Canva template setup with header graphic and section layouts - First member spotlight interview and feature piece - Curated economic development resources with current funding opportunities - Two revision rounds on final copy - Website archive setup guidance Share the first member you'd like featured and I'll deliver the pilot on your 72-hour schedule. Hi, This project immediately stood out to me because it is much more than designing a newsletter. You’re essentially creating a recurring editorial and visual identity for Pendleton’s artisan community, and that distinction matters. I’m a Senior Graphic Designer with 7+ years of experience across branding, editorial-style layouts, social media, digital content and visual communication. I can work within Canva while still bringing a professional design system to the newsletter, so each issue feels connected without becoming visually repetitive. I can also support the wider visual side of the project, including: • Monthly newsletter design and formatting in Canva • A consistent newsletter masthead/visual identity • Social media graphics and promotional assets • Facebook group promotional creatives Most importantly, I’d want the newsletter to feel like something the artisan community looks forward to receiving, not another organisation email people scroll past. The design should give the artists, opportunities and stories enough space to breathe while making PAN itself feel established, active and connected. I’d be happy to help shape the visual direction for the newsletter and build a system that can grow with PAN month after month.

Creating a monthly newsletter for the Pendleton Artisan Network can be tricky. If the timing or content is off, it could lead to disengagement from the community. A newsletter that misses its mark won't inspire connection or drive participation, and that defeats the purpose. I can craft a vibrant newsletter that resonates with your audience. By incorporating engaging visuals from talented graphic artists, I’ll ensure the design captivates readers. My approach includes highlighting upcoming events, classes, and member spotlights to foster a sense of community. I’ll also optimize the newsletter for online access and share it effectively across social media platforms, boosting visibility and engagement. I have experience in producing similar newsletters and can offer revisions to ensure it aligns perfectly with your vision. What’s your timeline for the first edition? Also, do you have specific brand assets you'd like included?
