Headhunter for Mid-Level Tax & Accounting Pro and separately for a Receptionist/Assistant

I am looking for a headhunter to help fill two positions at our accounting firm: a skilled mid-level tax and accounting professional and a receptionist/assistant. For the tax and accounting role, it’s likely the ideal candidate is currently employed at another firm, so the headhunter must be experienced in actively sourcing and recruiting top talent. The contractor will be responsible for pre-screening and conducting preliminary interviews for both roles, presenting us with only the most qualified candidates for consideration. Both positions require in-office work, as remote work is not an option.

Full-Time Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

·        Prepare and sign income tax returns using your own PTIN and Drake Tax Software

·        Enter bookkeeping transactions mainly through QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

·        Assemble, upload, email, or print tax returns as needed

·        Educate clients on strategies, procedures, and compliance matters

·        Review work with clients and ensure clarity and understanding

·        Prepare financial statements accurately and efficiently

·        Handle sensitive client information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion

Applicant Requirements:

·        Licensed as a CPA or an EA

·        Minimum of 750 federal income tax returns prepared, but 2,500 or more preferred

·        At least three years of experience using QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) and QuickBooks Online (QBO) in an accounting firm setting

·        Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·        Strong organizational skills and ability to manage work projects

·        Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

·        Skilled at prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients

·        Positive and adaptable team player willing to assist wherever needed

·        Professional demeanor and attire when interacting with clients and colleagues

·        Represent the firm professionally in all interactions

·        Enjoys collaborating in a supportive team environment

Receptionist/Assistant (Full-time between January and April, and flexible hours the remainder of the year)

Responsibilities:

·        Answer calls promptly and courteously using a multi-line phone system, screen calls effectively, provide accurate responses, schedule appointments, and route calls to the appropriate parties

·        Prepare, organize, and track client files with meticulous attention to detail

·        Greet clients warmly and professionally upon their arrival

·        Assist tax staff with clerical aspects of tax return preparation and bookkeeping tasks

·        Provide administrative support, including typing correspondence, filing, and managing mailings

·        Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and discretion

Applicant Requirements:

·        Experience in an accounting firm or similarly fast-paced environment

·        Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·        Ability to multitask effectively while remaining composed and professional

·        Background in bookkeeping and tax return data entry is advantageous

·        Highly organized, accurate, and efficient in all tasks

·        Positive and adaptable team player willing to assist wherever needed

·        Professional demeanor and attire when interacting with clients and colleagues

Reference checks must be included as part of the headhunter services.
