Local SEO & On-Page SEO Specialist for Dental Clinics (WordPress)

Job Description We are a growing dental marketing agency managing 20+ dental clinic websites. We are looking for a long-term SEO specialist to support ongoing Local SEO, On-Page SEO, and AI Search Optimization efforts across multiple WordPress websites. This is an ongoing freelance position with consistent work and the opportunity to increase hours as our client portfolio grows. Important: This role is focused exclusively on website SEO (WordPress). We are not looking for Google Business Profile management, citation building, link building, review management, or other off-page SEO services. The ideal candidate understands how to structure, optimize, and improve local service websites to increase rankings for dental services in competitive local markets. This is a freelance role with the potential for ongoing work across multiple dental clinic websites. Main Responsibilities: Conduct local keyword research for dental services and target locations Optimize existing service pages for local search intent Create SEO recommendations for new service and location pages Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and page structure Improve website content for both users and search engines Develop internal linking strategies between service pages, blog posts, and core pages Optimize URL structures and site architecture Implement schema markup where appropriate Improve page relevance for targeted dental keywords and locations Identify content gaps and recommend new pages Perform competitor analysis and identify ranking opportunities Conduct on-page SEO audits and provide actionable recommendations Work directly within WordPress to implement SEO improvements Required Skills: Proven experience with Local SEO and on-page SEO Familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Strong understanding of WordPress websites Experience optimizing service-based business websites Advanced keyword research skills Strong understanding of search intent and content optimization Experience with technical on-page SEO fundamentals Familiarity with Google Search Console and Google Analytics Experience using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Surfer SEO, or similar Ability to identify and fix on-page SEO issues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and reporting skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with dental clinics or healthcare websites Experience ranking local service pages in competitive markets Understanding of dental SEO best practices Basic HTML, CSS, and WordPress development knowledge Experience creating SEO content briefs and content optimization recommendations What We Are Looking For: We are looking for someone who can review a dental clinic website and identify opportunities to improve rankings through better page structure, content optimization, internal linking, keyword targeting, and overall website SEO.
